DENNIS McGILVRAY ELECTED AISLS PRESIDENT

Dennis McGilvray, Emeritus Professor of Anthropology at the University of Colorado at Boulder, has been elected AISLS President.  His term will run to October, 2016.

McGilvray is the author of Crucible of Conflict: Tamil and Muslim Society on the East Coast of Sri Lanka (Duke University Press, 2008); Symbolic Heat: Gender, Health and Worship among Tamils of South India and Sri Lanka (Grantha Corporation, 1998); and numerous other publications on Sri Lanka and India.

McGilvray is the fourth President of AISLS since its incorporation in 1996.  He follows Chandra de Silva, Jeanne Marecek, and Charles Hallisey.
