Dissidents and Activists in Sri Lanka, 1960s to 1990s
An AILS-sponsored project hosted through the Digital Princeton University Library and the South Asia Open Archives. This collection contains documents related to select Sri Lankan leftist movements in the second half of the twentieth century. These include political tracts about labor and civil rights, Liberation Theology writings, and documents regarding women’s rights movements. The authors and publishers include former left-wing political parties, trade unions, and civil rights organizations. The women’s rights archive includes pamphlets and serials from the Women’s Education and Research Centre. Most material is in English, but there are also significant Sinhala and some Tamil holdings.
