Internet Archive

This is a vast repository of archived web pages, digitized books, film clips, audio recordings, and more. A search for “Sri Lanka” yields over 14,000 results by title and over 300,000 results by text contents. Some works in copyright may be “borrowed” by users who set up a free account. Unique highlights of the collection include over 300 Sinhala books. There are also over 30,000 Tamil books, with some categorized under the subject of “Sri Lanka”, including digitized newspapers. Internet Archive often partners with university libraries, research institutions, and individuals for digitization projects, which are uploaded as part of their array of “collections.” These can be narrowed down by media types, such as “ebooks and texts.” Among these, the University of Toronto has digitized hundreds of Tamil books, including a special collection from its Robarts Library that contains several volumes edited by Arumuka Navalar.
