JSTOR

While JSTOR is best known for its collection of journal articles and other academic materials that can only be accessed through a paid subscription, it also hosts significant open-access resources, including the South Asia Open Archives, which has its own entry in this guide. To use JSTOR without a subscription, for each search one needs to click on the “content I can see” button on the left. Such a search brings up about 11,500 items for “Sri Lanka” and about 16,000 for “Ceylon”. Only about 1,500 of these entries overlap. Most coverage is from recent academic journals and books, but there is also historical material, such as 10 issues of the Ceylon National Review from 1906–1911.
