The National Archives of the Netherlands has many digitized items available that are related to Sri Lanka. Among the archival holdings, over 800 Dutch manuscript documents have been digitized, with most related to the Dutch East India Company (VOC) from 1602-1795. Available digital items also include a collection of photographs, mostly consisting of shots from the mid-twentieth century that document visiting political dignitaries and tourism initiatives. There is also a collection of maps, with many from the fully digitized Comprehensive atlas of the Dutch United East India Company, as well as manuscript books with drawings of coastlines and plans of forts. High resolution images are available for download.
