South Asia Open Archives (SAOA)
Hosted by JSTOR, this open-access digital archive contains thousands of books, journals, and official publications related to South Asia in twenty seven languages. The collection is particularly strong for the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The keywords “Ceylon” and “Lanka” each return around 2,000 results. Highlights of the collection related to Sri Lanka include 32 volumes of the annual Ceylon Blue Book between 1866 and 1926 and runs of the Morning Star (Utayatārakai) newspaper. SAOA also hosts some AILS digitization projects, including the Star of Islam, Dissidents and Activists in Sri Lanka, the 1976 Judgement of the Criminal Justice Commission (Insurgency), and an illustrated booklet on the 1921 visit to Ceylon by the Prince of Wales.
