This teaching module provides teachers and students with background information about modern architecture in Sri Lanka. It is accompanied by several case studies focused on three of Sri Lanka’s most famous architects: Minnette de Silva, Geoffrey Bawa, and Valentine Gunasekara. In the process, the module situates Sri Lanka and its trademark style of “tropical modernism” alongside similar architectural trends in other parts of the world.
